About Us

American Dog was inspired by our warehouse dog, Gracie.
Meet Gracie — part Kelpie, part Jack Russell, part Shepherd, 100% chaos gremlin. She was an accidental pup born from a chance encounter between a house dog and a farm dog, and she somehow ended up running the show at Stryker By Design, a Colorado company owned by four badass women for nearly two decades.
Gracie's office strategy? Grab a toy, charm a coworker into playing, then move on to the next victim. Repeat all day. She was basically a furry HR department.
Watching her work the room, the Stryker crew had a lightbulb moment: what if we made toys just for her? No business plan. No spreadsheets. Just tough, clever, people-and-pup toys built from the same military-grade materials they already used. Gracie approved.
That happy accident became American Dog in 2014 — a line of 100% USA-made dog toys and accessories, handcrafted daily by people who still believe in the American dream.
The philosophy is simple: great dogs deserve great toys. Not chew-it-alone toys — BUT, play-together toys. Built tough for the rowdiest players, designed to bring dogs and their humans closer.
And that "Made in USA" label? It's not a phase. Not a marketing stunt. It's a forever promise — every product, always.
A few dollars more. The best toy on the market. Customers who try American Dog once? They never go back.

Our Vision
American Dog isn't slowing down. We'll keep designing USA-made toys with heart, humor, and an eye for what actually makes tails wag — because every toy we make is built for one thing: fun between a dog and their human.
Gracie's Giveback will keep doing its thing, making sure no pup gets left out of the fun.
By making toys that last, we earn the kind of trust that turns first-time buyers into lifelong fans — and lifelong fans into the people who corner their friends at parties to talk about dog toys. You know the type. They're our favorite people.
Here's the secret behind all of it: every toy that ships isn't just another product rolling off an assembly line. It's a toy that was originally made for Gracie. That's the difference you can feel when you pick one up — and it's the difference your dog will make very clear the second they get their paws on it.
